How to Plan for Trade Show Display Booths

by | Jun 6, 2013 | Business

If you want your appearance at a trade show to be more effective, you need to make sure you pay close attention to the way you design your booth. This often requires you to sit down and plan out your trade show display booths long before you even attend the trade show. With the right planning and preparation, you will be able to ensure you make the biggest possible impact, making your appearance worth the money you spend.

How Much Space

At many trade shows, there are booths of varying sizes businesses can rent out to reach out to their target audience. Each size will require you to pay a different price. However, if a larger booth is necessary to truly showcase what your business can offer, it is often worth the price to rent a larger booth. If your company needs to save some money, you may be able to achieve the same level of success, even with a smaller booth, especially if you carefully plan your layout and what you need to take.

Choose Your Location

While some shows will assign locations randomly or based on when you register for your spot, there are others that will allow you to choose the exact space you would like to use as long as it is available. Check with the operators of the trade show to find out if you will be able to select the exact location of your trade show display booths. If they don’t allow you to choose, you may still be able to express a preference.

Staff Your Booth

To be the most successful at your trade show, it is important to staff your booth with the right people. Sending employees who are quiet and aren’t good at reaching out to the people who will enter the booth isn’t going to be conducive to generating quality leads. Instead, you should send people who are willing to reach out to everyone who enters the booth, striking up a conversation in hopes of generating leads.

Before you attend any trade shows, there are plenty of things you need to do to best plan for your trade show display booths. First, you need to determine just how much space you need and how much that space will cost. You then need to find out if you will be able to choose your location. Finally, determine who you will send to staff your booth, making sure you send the people who are most willing to reach out to others.
